I am a worrier. I worry about everything. I worry about things that aren’t even real situations. I worry about things in the past, present, and in the future. I like everything to be planned out completely under my control. The thing is life isn’t always under my control. I don’t always know what’s going to happen. I don’t know exactly how things will work out. I don’t know the timing of important future events. Things might not go according to plan. Some things have gone far differently than I planned, but I know it will all work out for the best because I know who holds my future - Jesus. When I am confused and not in control he knows exactly what my future holds. My faith is my comfort. God loves me. He has plans for me. He has not forsaken me. Everything is going according to his plan. He is the potter. I am the clay. I hope these verses encourage you as much as they give me hope and peace.

Exodus 14:14 The Lord will fight for you, you need only to be still. (NIV)

Exodus 33:14 And the Lord said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” (NET)

Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous! Do not fear or tremble before them, for the Lord your God is the one who is going with you. He will not fail you or abandon you. (NET)

Psalm 16:5 Lord, you give me stability and prosperity; you make my future secure. (NET)

Psalm 27:1 The Lord is my Light and my Salvation—whom shall I fear or dread? The Lord is the Refuge and Stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? (AMP)

Psalm 28:7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. (NIV)

Psalm 55:22 Throw your burden upon the Lord and he will sustain you. (NET)

Psalm 56:3 When I am afraid, I trust in you. (NET)

Psalm 121:1-2 I lift up my eyes to the mountains – where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. (NIV)

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. Acknowledge him in all your ways, and he will make your paths straight. (NET)

Proverbs 12:25 Anxiety in a person’s heart weighs him down, but an encouraging word brings him joy. (NET)

Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ (NKJV)

Jeremiah 17:5-8 This is what the Lord says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord. That person will be like a bush in the wastelands; they will not see prosperity when it comes. They will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives. “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” (NIV)

Jeremiah 29:11-13 For I know what I have planned for you,’ says the Lord. ‘I have plans to prosper you, not to harm you. I have plans to give you a future filled with hope. When you call out to me and come to me in prayer, I will hear your prayers. When you seek me in prayer and worship, you will find me available to you. If you seek me with all your heart and soul (NET)

Jeremiah 32:27 Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is there anything too hard for me? (AMP)

Matthew 6:25-34 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Isn’t there more to life than food and more to the body than clothing? Look at the birds in the sky: They do not sow, or reap, or gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you more valuable than they are? And which of you by worrying can add even one hour to his life? Why do you worry about clothing? Think about how the flowers of the field grow; they do not work or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed like one of these! And if this is how God clothes the wild grass, which is here today and tomorrow is tossed into the fire to heat the oven, won’t he clothe you even more, you people of little faith? So then, don’t worry saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ For the unconverted pursue these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But above all pursue his kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. So then, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own. (NET)

Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. (NET)

John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; I do not give it to you as the world does. Do not let your hearts be distressed or lacking in courage. (NET)

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose. (NET)

Romans 15:13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in him, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (NET)

Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God. And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. (NET)

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (NKJV)

Philippians 4:19 And my God will supply your every need according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. (NET)

Colossians 3:15 And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state] to which as [members of Christ’s] one body you were also called [to live]. And be thankful (appreciative), [giving praise to God always]. (AMP)

2 Thessalonians 3:16 Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with you all. (NET)

2 Timothy 1:7 For God did not give us a Spirit of fear but of power and love and self-control.

1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (NIV)

I hope this blog is a blessing to you. If you struggle with worry and stress, go over these verses. Pray about it. God does not want you to be stressed out. Faith and worry are opposing teams. Have faith. Trust God. He will not abandon you.
