My Christian Faith

as an Apostolic Pentecostal woman

I'm glad you're here!

Welcome to my website. I'm Leanna Mae. I'm an Apostolic Pentecostal Christian who loves to share my faith! As an author, this is my favorite thing to write about and the most important thing I write. I've been a published author since 2012. I write nonfiction print books on a variety of topics. One of those books is a bible study called The Subject of Salvation. I encourage you to study the topic and be able to teach it to others. There is a bible study page to go along with the book that all are welcome to use to teach bible studies from (or study if they don't have the book).

I also write blogs here on www.LeannaMae.org I have a growing list of blogs on Christian topics including sharing my faith journey, my journey coming to understand different topics, bible studies, and reflections.

For my faith journey, visit this page to hear my story of going from atheist to Christian, finding a church, and finding my way to being where I am today.

For the blogs, you can find them all neatly organized on the page Written by an Apostolic Pentecostal woman. You can also access all of my blogs from the topical blog directory. If you have a topic you want to know more about, feel welcome to submit an email via the contact page. Sometimes I do blogs by request.

I also like to create bible reading schedules which I share here.

Why do I write on these topics?

I was an atheist that came to Christ because someone was willing to answer my questions. There was so much I did not know. I was not raised in church. I barely knew anything when I came to believe Jesus is real and decided to follow him for all the days of my life. After becoming Christian, I found myself confused in all the conflicting information, controversies, denominations, and differing opinions. It is so important that we seasoned saints take the time to help new believers build a solid foundation in understanding who God is, what the bible is and how to read it, and how to grow spiritually. Many of my blogs are on topics I remember searching the internet for as I tried to figure things out. One of the ways that I try to share the gospel and teach the faith and make disciples is by writing.

I encourage you to make disciples

People are seeking. I've watched as the world has changed and I've watched as people fell away. I've also watched as new believers come and backsliders come home and people's faith is restored. On my website, most visitors are coming to the religious blogs. I've had readers from over 50 countries on 6 continents. I've quite literally been able to talk to people all over the world about these topics. One thing I can tell you is more and more are seeking. They want to know Him. They want to know truth. They want to know what the bible says. I encourage you to share the faith as well. Teach others. Speak the gospel. Invite everyone to church. Have bible studies. Be open to answering questions. Be able to give an answer for the faith that you have. Explain your faith, your convictions, your lifestyle, the ways of the church. Make disciples. Pray for the people God puts in your life to minister to.

There is only one God

Jesus is Lord. He is King. He is the Master. Jesus is the Savior. His name is the only name by which we can be saved. He reigns. This is available to you. Grace, mercy, forgiveness, redemption, salvation, and transformation is available to you. We become a new creation in Christ. Jesus is the only true God.

What is an Apostolic Pentecostal Christian?

I became a Christian in 2005. I became Apostolic Pentecostal in 2011. I was filled with the Holy Ghost evidenced by speaking in tongues in March of 2011, and I was baptized in the name of Jesus in May.

If you're not familiar with the Apostolic Pentecostal faith, here is the best introduction I can give. Come experience it for yourself.

As Christians, we follow Jesus and live for the Lord. As the church, we follow in the ways and continue the teaching of the early church. We hold strongly to the bible and its relevance today. We believe God is one and we follow the Oneness theology. Coming to believe is just the beginning. We must follow Jesus. We believe repentance is necessary as is baptism and receiving the Holy Spirit. We baptize by immersion in the name of Jesus (not in the titles of father, son, and holy spirit). We receive the Holy Spirit (many call it "getting the Holy Ghost") with the evidence of speaking in tongues just like they did in the bible. We abide in Him. We gather together weekly to hear the word, worship, and fellowship. Apostolic churches are Spirit-filled atmospheres with anointed preaching where we worship with liberty and pray together. We seek to grow in the Lord and have the fruit of the Spirit. We are set apart from the world to live holy. Our lifestyle is rooted in holiness. That means we pursue righteousness, living right, refraining from sin, being separated from the sinful ways of the world, and serve others as a church while we do our best to be like Jesus Christ. We strive to study the Word (the bible), walk in truth, worship in Spirit and in truth, live for the Lord, grow our faith, fellowship with one another, and disciple others.

I can share the faith and I can explain the teachings, but nothing can match the experience of getting in an Apostolic Pentecostal church. What it feels like to step into a place of prayer cannot be explained through the internet. What it means to be in a room filled with the Holy Spirit cannot be understood until you have been in those spaces. So, get to church. Find a church in your area. Travel if you need to. This is worth seeking after. If you've got it, share it!
