It’s a beautiful thing when a passion and a career combine. Even more beautiful is fulfilling a purpose God has for you. For doulas seeking training, there is something special about finding a faith-based training. Learning from a curriculum that aligns with your faith, having leadership that walks a common path God called us to, and having seasoned ones to guide and to pray for and to grow the new ones to this path is more precious than rubies. These few faith-based trainers guide the next generation in knowledge and wisdom. If you are looking for a Christian doula training program, here are a few to look into.

AWWS Doula Training is a personal, interactive experience where you will receive individual support in your professional training and grow with a community of other women who are on the same journey as you! Rather than just reading online materials on your own, you will experience the interaction of live video classes where you will have the opportunity to ask questions and get to know other women! When you complete your certification process, you will carry a lifetime certification with no yearly renewal fees. In addition, you will continue to have access to support during the lifetime of your doula career! All of this is yours at a very affordable investment fee that is meant to make this education accessible to all women. We honor our traditional roots and meaning of the word doula by upholding the strength and dignity of women in their natural biological role as mothers.

She offers birth doula training, postpartum doula and lactation training, and consultancy services for doulas.

Trainer: Amaris Garcia
Amaris Garcia started her career in childbirth education in 2014 and completed various trainings and certifications as a Childbirth Educator, Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula, Bereavement Doula, Lactation Counselor, Spinning Babies Parent Educator, and in Herbalism & Natural Health. She has supported many diverse families and situations and had the wonderful opportunity to develop and manage a volunteer doula program at a local hospital where she hired and trained many doulas, teaching 16 hour doula training workshops and giving on-the-job training in the labor and delivery room. A Woman Who Serves Doula Program was born out of this experience, to offer an online teaching experience that can reach across geographic lines and stay true to the traditional roots of what a doula is. Amaris has experience teaching and supporting families both in the hospital setting and in home births, as well as teaching for the pro-life, holistic health women’s organization, Guiding Star. She resides in Iowa with her family and is passionate about mothering her children and empowering women and their families to appreciate how God so wonderfully and intricately created their bodies to be part of the amazing and natural process of pregnancy and birth! Her faith in Christ influences everything she does and grounds her in staying true to biblical principles in all her teaching, including honoring womanhood as God intended it to be. She is bilingual English/Spanish and enjoys teaching how to support families of all cultures and backgrounds.

Hi, Ayvi! I do not have a Christian doula training program myself. The ladies in the blog here have a few to choose from.

I'm interested in finding a Christian postpartum doula agency in Philadelphia, PA and Wilmington, DE? Do know of any agency in those cities?

Hi, Kristi. I don't know of any agencies in PA, but you are welcome to join the Facebook group Find a Christian doula, midwife, and more. I know we have some members that are from PA.
