Patient rights and healthcare navigation
Type of class: in-person, private classes or group classes with 2+ couples
What this class is about: This class teaches on patient rights, navigating communication with your healthcare team, and advocating for maternity rights.
Class outline and curriculum:
Why take it: If you don’t know your rights, you don’t have any. Patient rights are the foundation of ethical healthcare. Know what your options are.
Who it’s open to: This is open to all women who are pregnant (any gestation).
What to wear: This is a lecture/discussion class. We won’t be doing any hands-on activities. Dress comfortably (no need to dress for flexibility).
What to bring: Students don’t need to bring anything.
Where class is: This class is available in person in the Dayton, Ohio area. Service area is based on county. See the Classes I teach page for more information. All classes are in-home unless a student can host at their church or other public location (in public is preferred if able).
How long class is: 3-4 hours
When: All classes are by appointment only.
Cost: Private classes are $150. Group classes are $75.
How to schedule: Email me via the contact button below. Before scheduling any in-home private classes, I do meet in a public location for safety reasons. In that meeting, we will customize the class outline and do payment. For public classes, email me to sign up and receive an invoice via Paypal.

- Navigating communication with your care team
- Role playing scenarios
- How to handle pushback and violation of rights
- Advocacy for birthing mothers and their babies
