Leanna, certified breastfeeding specialist
I’m Leanna. I’m a lactation specialist in the Dayton, Ohio area. I have been a lactation specialist since 2014. My degree is in health sciences. I graduated from Sinclair in 2018. My lactation training is through Lactation Education Resources where I have earned the credential certified breastfeeding specialist in 2014 and again in 2021.
I enjoy teaching women about all stages of women’s health across the lifespan. The breastfeeding journey is so precious, but not always an easy path to navigate. There are so many questions. There is so much information out there on the internet and conflicting info can be so overwhelming. I understand you want to give your baby the best nutrition. I offer accurate and evidence-based education, support navigating and overcoming lactation obstacles, and help reaching that family’s individual feeding goals.
I serve the Dayton, Ohio area offering in-home support. I can also come to the local hospitals and birthing centers to provide support after birth without time limits.

What can I help you with?
Here are some things that I support.
If a matter is beyond my scope of practice, I work collaboratively with your healthcare team to support your infant feeding goals. If a mother or baby needs an IBCLC, I have several in the area that I refer to. Infants who are hospitalized or mothers and babies with complex medical issues and lactation issues likely need to be cared for by an IBCLC and may need an entire healthcare team. Babies – like adults – sometimes need to see their primary care provider and consult with specialists. If a family I’ve been working with needs to be referred to a higher level of lactation professional, I continue to provide lactation care as long as the mother wishes for my care to be included in her care team.
- Prenatal Q&A
- Visits shortly after birth
- Positioning
- Latch
- Engorgement
- Mastitis
- Milk supply questions and concerns
- Teaching how to establish a good milk supply
- Helping get connected to local resources and peer support
- Help with supplementation
- Counseling through weaning
- Supporting lactation or drying up milk supply after the loss of a baby
- Re-lactation and induced lactation
- And other breastfeeding bumps in the road

Service area of western Ohio
I'm in the southwest corner of Clark County just a few minutes from the Green county line, Montgomery county line, and the Miami county line. It's a highly convenient spot to be able to serve a wide area. I'm only a few minutes from I-70 and just a few more minutes from I-75. My service area is mapped out below. For lactation clients that are not doula clients, I serve the green colored counties.
