Have your partner learn a variety of comfort measures. Have an easier birth. Even if you are planning an epidural, this class will help prepare you to cope with the contractions before you are far enough in labor to be admitted to the hospital and get the epidural.
Who it’s open to: This is for pregnant women in their third trimester. This is for pregnant women and their husbands/partners. If no partner is available, you can sub in one lay support person such as a family member or friend who will support your birth (not a doula). Please make arrangements for childcare as classes are for adults only.
What to wear: Day 2 of this class is very hands-on. Wear something flexible. If you want, you can bring a blanket for added modesty.
What to bring: You don’t have to bring anything for this class, but you may find it more comfortable to bring pillows. Bring a pen and a notebook if you’d like to. If you have any support tools for labor, you are welcome to bring them and practice with what you have.
