Wyoming is an excellent book for anyone who loves 1800s stories rooted in the Christian faith. Wyoming is a book of 4 sequels in one. It tells the story of a military family post-Civil War and their journey of service, love, trials, and faith. Her detail is exquisite. The way she describes the characters it makes you feel like you know them. She describes the surroundings so well you can almost see it. It feels as if you are there witnessing it all. It’s the kind of book that draws you in and you live in it for days. I couldn’t put it down. I was completely wrapped up in the story to the point I was taken aback when I looked up from the book to be surrounded by modern day life. She grabs your emotions and appeals to your heart. You rejoice with the characters. You mourn with them. You worry in the trials. I was inspired by their faith. It wasn’t a Hallmark card have faith all is well kind of story. It shows faith in the deepest of trials and through life’s hardest situations. It shows them trusting God and how God comes through for them. It truly moved me. I don’t want to give away the plot. I’ll just say a man comes home from the Civil War, marries, and they travel from post to post living the military life in the 1800s. The author does a good job of tying in many characters along the way to tell their story. You feel as if you’re there with them for the journey. As an author myself, I rarely get time to read for fun. This book reminded me why I love reading so much. I’m very impressed with this author’s detail and faith based stories. I look forward to reading more of her work. I might just read Wyoming again. It was so good. If you like 1800s kind of stories or inspirational Christian fiction, give this book a read. I give it 5 stars.
