Please read the blog on unborn development first. When reading of these procedures, keep in mind we are talking about murdering a baby.
There are several types of abortion procedures: self-induced, herbal, chemical, surgical, and vaginal birth abortions.
Some women will try to cause a miscarriage by taking a high amount of birth control pills, other pills, drinking alcohol, or doing drugs. Some used to use a hanger before Roe v Wade legalized abortion. Self-induced abortions are very dangerous.
Herbal abortions have occurred for many years. Herbs can be used to regulate the menstrual cycle and increase fertility. There are herbs that can cause uterine contractions which should be avoided during pregnancy. Just because herbs are natural doesn’t mean they are safe. Some herbs are good for your health. Others can be hazardous. Herbal abortions don’t always work. There are potential side effects such as excessive bleeding. However, very few use that method of abortion. So, I will focus on the more common types.
Chemical abortions are pills that you take in the first trimester to kill the baby and cause the uterus to contract thus birthing the dead baby. They induce bleeding that usually lasts about 2 weeks. Bleeding may last a month or two. These can be unsuccessful 5-10% of the time.
In surgical abortions, the cervix will be dilated first with dilators or prostaglandins. Then the surgery is performed. There are multiple ways surgical abortions are done depending on how far along she is.
For early pregnancies, a suction aspiration is done. This vacuums out the uterus with a high power suction that rips the baby from their mother.
In the first trimester, a D&C is done. This procedure opens the cervix and scrapes out the baby piece by piece.
In the second trimester, the procedure is called a D&E which stands for dilation and evacuation. The abortionists dilate the cervix, rupture the amniotic sac, and use surgical tools to tear the baby out of the womb. Tiny fingers, little hands, arms, and legs torn away from their body. For easier removal, the abortionist crushes their little skull waiting for the 'calvaria sign' which is when the baby's brains ooze out of their mother's body. Once the abortionist thinks the baby has been completely torn apart, they will reassemble their body parts to check for anything missing that may still be in the womb. They end with scraping out the uterus to ensure all contents have been removed.
For late term abortions at 20 weeks and on there is the pure evil procedure known as D&X (dilation and extraction) commonly called partial-birth abortion. This type of abortion has been banned, but is still done in some places. The woman’s body is prepared for birth. The baby is partially delivered breech. Once the abortionist reaches the baby’s neck, they stab them with scissors in the base of the skull. This method of abortion was invented by Martin Haskell of Dayton, Ohio. This method of abortion can be used until full term. You can be 36 weeks pregnant and go in for an abortion.
Other methods of abortion which are not as common are inter-cardiac injection also known as ditch, salt poisoning, prostaglandin abortions, and hysterotomy.
Words can’t really do justice to the horror of abortion. It is a gruesome murder of the most innocent people.
